BEST Energy CheckUp: scans for potential energy saving and sustainable production of energy

Get to know BEST Energy CheckUp, an initiative by CCS Energie-advies and TNO. The BEST initiative supports local organizations and entrepreneurs to make their business parks more sustainable. They do this by forming a local organization on a business park, which is dedicated to energy saving and sustainable energy production.

The essence of the BEST approach are the scans: the energy potential scan and the BEST QuickScan (resulting from the SME Energy CheckUp). With these scans the potential for energy saving and sustainable energy production is mapped out. By connecting both scans, entrepreneurs gain even more insight into their energy use. An Energy CheckUp, so!

In addition to the scans, CCS Energie-advies is working on an approach that enables entrepreneurs in a business park to organize themselves in groups, so that they can reduce CO2 emissions from the business park. If they do this together, this costs less time and money.

Havengebied Enschede BEST is cooperating with the Belangenvereniging Ondernemers Havengebied (BOH), the municipality, the province and the BE + foundation at the business park Havengebied Enschede. The local tractor of the project is the BOH. They are helped by an energy team of five entrepreneurs who lead the way in the field of energy saving and production of sustainable energy. They share their experiences to make the project a success. Inspiring other entrepreneurs to join in is also a priority.

An Energy Potential Scan has been made for this business park, which shows how much energy can be saved. The results were shared at an interactive meeting with the entrepreneurs on the ground. The first enthusiastic entrepreneurs have already joined forces to save energy together. The other entrepreneurs are approached by letter. The final goal? Set up a local energy organization together with as many entrepreneurs as possible. This will implement and finance the energy measures.
