CCS Energie-advies has a dream: to contribute to sustainable agriculture. Sustainable transport is part of this. CCS Energie-advies started a few years ago with the realization of a tractor, which is powered by green gas instead of diesel. This tractor could be filled with green gas on the farm. For CCS Energie-advies, a next phase could not fail; the development of a full-service filling station on a dairy farm, where the whole neighborhood can fill its car or tractor with green gas.
This petrol station will be built at dairy farm De Marke in Hengelo (GLD). This dairy farm is part of the Wageningen University and Research Group. A company of the future. CCS Energie-advies shows how, with relatively little money, a gas station can be built and how the operation works.
CCS Energie-advies demonstrates, among other things, how manure can be converted into biogas and how this biogas is upgraded to natural gas quality. The green gas is compressed to about 250 bar and then stored. To make refueling as efficient as possible, three pressure levels have been developed. The car is first filled with the low pressure buffer, followed by the medium pressure buffer and finally filled to 200 bar. This process takes place in a few minutes, as with a standard refueling for diesel or petrol. With this petrol station, up to 40 vehicles a day can be fitted with a full tank.
With the development of a petrol station like this, the farmer becomes, next to milk producer, sustainable fuel supplier for transport.
This project was made possible in part by the Interreg 5A project Green Kaskade.
