Guidelines for medium-sized and large biogas plants

Guidelines for medium-sized and large biogas plants

Biogas, Safety first

Biogas has many advantages – it is decentralized, climate-friendly and reliable – and it is a safe form of energy, provided certain rules are complied with. With the publication of ‘Guidelines for the safe use of biogas technology’ a publication by the German Fachverband Biogas and GIZ, the safety of biogas plants on the international market is to be improved.

Guidelines for biogas plants

These Safety Guidelines for medium-sized and large biogas plants cover the safety of biogas plants and refer to various forms of practical assistance based largely on the recommendations in the Technical Information 4 of the Sozialversicherung für Landwirtschaft, Forsten and Gartenbau (SVLFG). The Safety Guidelines are therefore an essential source of information for everyone involved in the planning, construction, operation, maintenance and testing of biogas installations. In addition, this publication, which was developed in collaboration with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, is intended as a basis for policy makers to develop possible national frameworks and safety standards.
