PLANET
The PLANET project is an initiative co-funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme to provide innovative training. The target group consists of farmers, staff, consultants and students. The trainings and lessons focus on the daily management and maintenance of renewable energy installations. CCS is one of the knowledge partners in this project, which runs until the end of 2020.
Together with educational institution AERES, CCS represents the Netherlands. Other participants come from France, Italy and Austria. The partners can be divided into two groups: experts and trainers. CCS fulfils a unique role in this, because in addition to a knowledge contribution it also provides training. Within PLANET, CCS is responsible for the content in the field of biogas and green gas. Other disciplines that are also covered in the package are general IT skills, solid biomass and solar energy. Because of the international character, the modules will not only be available in Dutch, but also in English, French, German and Italian.
The course material will be provided on the basis of the so-called “flipped classroom” teaching model. Course participants will study the basic material themselves. Classroom lessons offer room to deal with specific questions and to explore the various subjects in greater depth. Each module makes use of classroom days during which participants get to work with the material in a classroom setting. Self-study days complement these classroom lessons. In addition to the classroom days, there is also the possibility to join excursions to various practical locations. For example, participants have the opportunity to see how the lesson material is applied in practice.
